SECRETARIAT
The CSA Secretariat is responsible for carrying out the day-to-day operations of the organization and to service the membership. The staff of the Secretariat report to the General Manager, who in turn reports to the Board of Directors.
Ted Bartlett
General Manager
Ted holds a General Bachelor’s Degree from York University. Ted brings a wealth of management experience from the both the corporate and non-profit sectors, most recently as Canadian Director of an international charitable publishing organization. In addition, Ted has worked as a consultant and advisor across many business sectors. Ted is experienced in leadership and management and brings a contagious enthusiasm and passion to foster the continued growth and development of the CSA. Ted has been a member of the Secretariat since April 2006.

Chris Shepherd (Sheps)
Creative Director
Sheps is a graduate of the 3-year Graphic Design program and the 2-year Advertising-Creative Media program at Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. During his college career he sat on the Canadore Students Representative Council for 2-years as Vice President Internal and Vice President External. After graduation in 2008, Sheps fulfilled an 8 month contract position with the College Student Alliance before he set out on a entrepreneur path, which included starting several companies in the creative communications industry. Just over 1-year later Sheps brought his creative flare back to the College Student Alliance in a new position, which utilizes all his creative problem solving and leadership skills.
Jim Robeson
Director of Advocacy
Jim Robeson attended St. Lawrence College Kingston, receiving an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration Marketing and was Class of 2008 valedictorian. During his studies, Mr. Robeson served as President of the student association, governor of the college’s board, regional director of the College Student Alliance (CSA) Board of Directors and later as the CSA Vice-President. With a continued devotion to, and belief of, the value of a college education, Mr. Robeson became Director of Advocacy at the CSA in May of this year.
Sean Woodhead
Research & Policy Analyst
Sean received his bachelors degree in political science from Brock University, also completing a minor in professional ethics. Prior to being hired by the CSA, Sean gained experience in multiple non-profit organizations. His past work and volunteer functions have covered areas such as operational system design, policy development, risk management and organizational ethics.

Heather Brekelmans
Member Support Manager
Heather is a graduate of the Landscape Technician Program at Niagara College of Applied Arts and Technology in the Niagara Region. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies and a Minor in French from Brock University. She has been actively involved in the student government with Niagara College Students’ Administrative Council (NCSAC) as Vice President Programming, Executive Vice President, and President over the past four years. Heather was also a member of the CSA Board of Directors 2008-09 as the Southwest Regional Director. As a result of her hard work and dedication to student need, Heather and her peers were awarded the 2008 College’s Ontario Student Innovation Award. Being an experienced student leader and having been a student of both college and university background, Heather completed her term as President for SAC and joined the CSA staff in June 2009.
