Currently enrolled in Business Administration – Human Resources Advance Diploma program, Naasson Huyler is a proud Niagara College student. Having a strong presence on campus helped Huyler get elected as Student Representative for Niagara College’s Board of Governors for the 2015/16 academic year. He was also elected by the members of Human Resources at Niagara College (HR@NC) as the Director of Media for HR@NC, an association that focuses on establishing industry connections for students. Through both positions, Huyler is trusted by his peers to create positive experiences for students.

Additionally, Huyler works as an NCExpert for on-campus recruitment at Niagara College. He leads informative and engaging campus tours that cover both Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses. “Being a student leader and volunteer has enhanced my college experience and opened up so many doors and opportunities for me,” Huyler said. “It’s pushed me to believe in myself and really go beyond the limits I have set.”
Huyler is also active in the Niagara community. He worked at the community Hope Centre and volunteers at the Welland Cat Adoption Centre as a shift leader. He credits his positive attitude, campus and community work for making him who he is today.
“(This award means) a chance to grow and develop myself even further,” Huyler explained. “To me, it’s a huge step in my academic growth.”
Naasson Huyler continues to make an incredible difference in his communities and CSA is proud to award him with the 2016 CSA Leadership Scholarship for Niagara College.
