CSA Elects 2016/17 Board of Directors

CSA is proud to introduce the 2016/17 CSA Board of Directors, elected by the membership at large during May Changeover Conference. The Board oversees the organization while providing guidance and future vision. All members of the Board are current student leaders from within the membership. The Board brings important post-secondary issues to the membership for their input through conferences and workshops. These events are where advocacy initiatives, research direction, and recommendations are voted upon by the membership.

Madison Schell, CSA President Student Union of Confederation College Inc., Confederation College Position on campus: Vice-president External Number of years in student government: 1 The reason for running: To ignite the passion within by facilitating change, listening to members and being a voice for college students. One priority for the 2016/17 year: Create new relationships with new member schools to become more inclusive as an organization. Fun fact: Bilingual (French and English), and a figure-skater for ten years.

Gurpal Singh Bhatia, CSA Vice-President Conestoga Students Inc., Conestoga College Position on campus: Director Number of years in student government: 1 The reason for running: To provide support and assistance to members, represent all Ontario college students (members and non-members) and create a new CSA pillar. One priority for the 2016/17 year: Develop a new CSA pillar; Equality. Fun fact: I am from a country where there are thousands of languages spoke, but no language with the country’s name. Can you guess which country?

Cameron Jones, CSA Director Conestoga Students Inc., Conestoga College Position on campus: Director Number of years in student government: 5 The reason for running: To represent and give voice to post-secondary students across Ontario. To give all I have to create positive change. One priority for the 2016/17 year: Attract new membership to CSA and increase value for current members. Fun fact: The top consumer of kale, before it took off as a health food, was Pizza Hut who used it to decorate their lunch buffets.

Tiffany Desbiens, CSA Director Fleming Student Administrative Council, Fleming College Position on campus: Director Number of years in student government: 2 The reason for running: To empower, motivate, and inspire others through innovation. One priority for the 2016/17 year: Focus on Aboriginal student and international student advocacy. Fun fact: Black belt in Dahn Moo Do (Korean martial arts).

Rhaili Champaigne, CSA Director Cambrian Students’ Administrative Council, Cambrian College Position on campus: President Number of years in student government: 3 The reason for running: Coming soon! One priority for the 2016/17 year: Coming soon! Fun fact: Coming soon!

Davinder Singh, CSA Director Centennial College Student Association Inc., Centennial College Position on campus: President Number of years in student government: 1 The reason for running: To become more involved in student government to serve all Ontario college students to the best of my abilities. One priority for the 2016/17 year: To work closely with members to directly impact change on college campuses. Fun fact: Studied in multiple countries (PSE).
